I am pretty certain that BEFORE 1995 that engine was built to 1000hp. (Audi)
I am pretty sure Walker owns “Bad boys” the movie. LOL

Ah…so THAT’s why they are so popular and dominated the tracks accross America and have mulitple magazines on the newsstands devoted to them. I should have known!

Its funny cuz i just bought the wife a 1995 Mustang GT last week lol.
Here is a picture of it at work last week.

Also as far as quick cars in 1995 i liked…
*1995 9C1 Caprice
*1995 Impala SS
*1995 Buick roadmaster (with the right gears)
*1995 B4U LS Caprice (ditto)
*1995 LT1 Camaro and firebird,thats a given…
*1995 Mustang GT,duh lol
*1995 Taurus SHO
*any SC’ed W-body GM
*1995 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC
*1995 F-150 Lightning
*1995 Chevy 1500 454 SS
Thats just what comes to mind right now.
Even being brand new in '95 that STILL wasn’t the Mustang to buy, the only SN95 car that got any shout out was the S351…when talking about Mustang’s back in the 90’s it was all about the Fox if going fast with basic mods was the goal. That’s not to say that many of the other cars mentioned weren’t ‘the car to have’…but the history book I’m making up here makes it pretty clear that bang for the buck, the Fox couldn’t be beat.
Old turbo dodges started to get cheap for the few that knew what they could do, and fairly common. But mostly just v8’s held the reigns.
I hear ya…

what made me think about this discussion in the morning was when I was going through some of the old SHOshop archives. they had kits for the SHO in the mid 90’s to bolt on 450hp (crank) to your SHO, and it got me thinking what was THE car to have back then to win races. I was thinking What would UBRF have looked like if it happened in 1995. nevermind the fact that it would not have happened at all but you get the point.
God, 1995 was the PRIME of Japanese sports cars…
Take your pick:
MR2, Supra, RX7, Miata, 300ZX, 3000GT, DSM, NSX-T, Integra GS-R, del Sol…
All those cars made in the 1995 model year were among the best of the their versions…
And of course…
The 1995 Lotus Esprit S4!
dodge viper!
Yeah but are we talking about for drag racing or road course racing?
IMO the cars you mentioned would be good for road course racing.I don’t think they would fair well on drag racing.
Those Japanese cars all pretty much ran lowish 13s and made over 300hp. The JDM supercars that is, not the lesser cars listed.
Turbos in all of them (worth owning) and advanced electronics priced them out of enthusiasts ranges, so we had to wait 10 years to own them. Of course, buy then, they were making 1000+ whp (Don’t know about the 300zx).
In 1995 the DSMs were making 200+ hp, AWD and low 15s stock.
Am I the only one that cringes every time dannyboy posts?
You’re not alone my friend^
a supra would smoke the shit out of some shitty caprice… which is a car that you said
