In 1995 what was the car to have?

Maybe im remembering wrong,i swear the cops showed up.I will ask my buddy.I was friends with joe and i thought we helped him.Hell it was 15 years ago, lol. But i do belive you seeing he had the buick and you remembered that.So i would guess you remember dan and jason, craig and mike roberts then?

Dan and Jay Bezinque, Craig Muni, yep, lol.

Its wierd i cant picture who you are though. The only other joe i remember from that time was joe (sorry i dont know how its spelled)Amonti.

My favorite american car at the time was the 95 thunderbird sc with the five speed trans and the weird blue leather interior.

I’m Joel not Joe I used to hang mostly with Matt Groll who had a white IROC, Dusty Taylor who had a grey 5.0, I also had an IROC in dark red. I used to race around with a quick blue '79 Z28. My blue one had a decent 358 sbc with a gear drive (noisy) and ran mid 8’s most of the time. Me and Joe K had our battles but he would never race me when I got good tires. We went out to Kilian road a few times as well. The motor from that '66 was the same motor he pulled out of his '80 Z28.

When i met joe he already had the chevelle, but i do remember him saying he had a Z28 that the drivetrain was in.Your blue Z28 kind of rings a bell but i dont remember it well.I met all theses people just from cruising down the blvd and sheridan and racing them.I still see jason at lancaster in the summer. It was fun times back then,no kids, alot of racing and drinking. And yes joe didnt race very much,i think the race between him and pony express was the only real race i seen. The rest of us were the ones doing all the racing.

My blue Z:

I dont remember it well. That isnt the same car that craig ended up owning is it?I know he had a camaro with gear drive and a tci tranny that hit like a freight train when it shifted. There were a few camaros running around back then, then ones i remember were roberts gold Z28,craigs,dan had 1 at one point,i even had a brown 1978 Z 350 4 speed.

We are thinking of different Craigs. Craig Muni had a red Formula '79 or so with a small block chevy 400 in it. The Craig you are thinking of had a black '79 Camaro with some expensive crate motor that was slow iirc. All those guys were from Looney Acres.

I sold my blue Z to Rich Jones and he blew it up in a week, then parted it out.

Yes you are right, the craig i knew was from Looney Acres. His was dark blue i thought.I dont remember how it went just the tci trans was a joke,it shifted so hard something was going to break.Im sure we probably raced, seeing your car was quicker than mine im sure you won.My 65 plymouth was running low 9s.Payed $500 for the car and payed $250 for the engine and trans (low compression 440).It was a fun and held its own on the streets. It was enough to take mild mustangs and camaros and if not it was a close race.It wasnt about winning just the thrill of it.

I sold my blue Z in aprilish of '92 then bought my dark red IROC. It had a 305TPI/auto that was slow as hell. It ran 9.9’s. That got stolen in late '94 and I bought my '91 Z in january of '95. I owned that until 2000 or so. I was mainly at the track with my blue Z ,not so much with my IROC and then back at the track a lot with my '91. I would have raced you with my '91 most likely. That ran 8.9-9.1’s.

79 chevy p/u

It was light blue on stock color coded rally rims.

The guy i traded my Daytona to did all the work to the Cutlass.

Off the top of my head i can remember it had…

*1970’s 350 Rocket motor
*Quadrajet 4 barrel carb (can’t remember the cfm)
*3 step up cam (thats what he called it)
*Long tube headers w/ strait pipe dual exhaust
*3.23 gears i believe
*350 turbo trans w/ high stall and shift kit
*Flex-a-lite fan

A few of my friends at the time had high power Olds Cutlass’s and i just had to have one myself lol.One of my buddys had a Corvette 350 in his, yeah that thing moved out real nice.
