Recently got my front bumper repaired and repainted. And, I would like to keep it in its fresh paint & condition.
I was thinking of going with the 3M clear bra protectant.
Just wondering, but is it really worth it? How much does it cost? I’m sure it should be worth it, actually, since its job is to protect the bumper (or any other body panel) from scratches/rock chips.
Where can I get it done? Can you recommend a respectable, well-known place?
Does it truly protect it? I don’t need the hardcore protectants. Just that I would like to keep the bumper on when I go to track events and such. It would be crappy for the bumper to look old and chippy after.
Especially, driving fast on the highway, rock chips are inevitable.
Anyone that can help me out, would much appreciate it.
I just picked up an 07 Pathfinder. I’m getting the bumper, mirrors, hood, fender, and front roof done. I believe its worth it, definitly protects the paint against those little rock chips that accumulate over time. If you have a dark paint those chips are very noticable and the clear applications now work better than before.
jus talked to paint circuit regarding that. i was actually supposed to buy it prior to painting my bumper but they didnt have it and told me that now its only done in the shops… oh well… but if you guys have sources share the word…
or another alternative would be getting a clear aerosol bumper protector.
yeah, i’ve seen that aerosol bumper paint from paint circuit.
i’ve heard from the guy that works at paint circuit, that if you mix that bumper protector stuff with the finish on the paint, it will strip it or somewhere along those lines.
IMO, i would opt in more for the 3M clear tape. only problem is that, i’m guessing it would cost alot to get it done, since it must be hard to apply the 3M tape, since there can be bubbles if not done correctly.
