Inspection advice?

I’m 99% sure the inspection sticker is married to your registration in the DMV database which is why yes, you have to get a car inspected when the registration changes hands. People get away without doing this because a cop is only going to pull you over and run your inspection if he sees it being out of date. That doesn’t mean it’s a good idea to just leave the old inspection sticker on there and hope no one ever notices it doesn’t match the registration.

Seeing as you’re already in trouble for having a non-legit inspection I wouldn’t chance it. Junk the car, get another beater that will pass inspection, and get a legit sticker on the thing. Go to court with proof that you junked the car and that you’re new ride is 100% legal and hope the judge is in a good mood. Or spend the few bucks it would take to get the current car to pass, get it inspected and go to court with the proof that the current car is now legal.

When I bought my latest car, the guy owned a repair shop and sold a few cars… told me the car would come inspected.
But when I went to the dmv they told me i had to get it inspected and gave me a 10 day temp sticker.

I was like meh, whatever.
and left it.
didn’t see any marking or such on the sticker, other than mileage… so i didnt bother getting it reinspected.

im a inspector. and the e-brake has to hold the vehicle in drive and reverse with a small amount of throttle. the ball joint is part of the safety inspection. there must no tears and not loose as shit

the ebrake needs to hold the cars in drive up to between 1800 and 2000 rpms which is the simulated amount of pressure that your cars feels on a incline or decline. Also in absolutely no way is the ball joint part of the inspection, there is nothing in the computer that could fail because of the ball joint, unless the ball joint being loose made something else that is failable loose.

Car has a busted tail light lens, piece missing about the size of the palm of your hand. Both front corner lens covers are gone (bulbs still work tho). One of the tires is worn, it needs lower ball joints, and the e-brake doesnt work.

i know him outside of the internet, the car has a cracked frame, the back doors are welded shut from an accident, the thing is a death trap and falling apart, i have never seen such a pile of shit.

One of my BMWs failed inspection today for ‘discoloration/fadin around the edge of the mirrors.’ NOT LIKE YOU CANT SEE OUT THE DAMN THING!

I did a little research and apparently a small crack in the frame shouldnt fail the car. Rust isnt a big issue either.
