Insurance question

Insurance agency is allstate…

My insurance is due every 6 months, if I don’t own the car for the duration of the 6 months, do I still owe for the 6 months or would it get broken down into the months insurance covered the car?

It should get broken down into the months the car was insured. I pay monthly. So much better that way.

All you can do is cancel and reinstate the insurance.

So the balance remaining on my 6 months would be carried onto my next policy?

Your insurance will send you a refund check of the difference that you didn’t use.

this.

You’ll get a pro-rated refund. Anytime you pay for a longer term contract and don’t use it all you are owed the difference between what was used and what wasn’t used. It’s called a pro-rated refund.

Correct. Basically the insurance company will “pro=rate” your premium. So just cancel the policy if you are selling the vehicle.

If you were just taking the vehicle off of the road, you could suspend coverage, but per the OPs post, sounds like it is for sale.

Ya for the insurance company cuz they jack you with your service charge each month for the payment.

Eh, I just give my dad $ for my car.
