I think the problem is a lot of people have TW cable and don’t want to get FiOS just for internet (and don’t want to add VZ Cable). Since TW is now rolling out TW Wideband (their version of FiOS), we might finally get a product that sticks.
Doubt it, TWC is only offering wideband in areas where FiOS is availible to compete with Verizon.
Smart move honestly. Just sucks for the rest of us who want it that can’t get either of them.

Doubt it, Verizon TV is 40000x better than TW. No more 30 seconds between changing channels, larger DVR HD, etc.

Yeah, it’s a new box they just released. I don’t have TW Cable TV, but my brother does. It’s made by Samsung.
Yeah those Samsung boxes are supposedly way better than the Scientific Atlanta boxes that have been around for 5 years now. Someone told me you can get TWC to swap them out as well, you just need to find an office that actually has them in stock. That same person also said there was no channel delay in switching on the Samsungs. I’ve just been too lazy to try to track one down.
Also with FiOS you were originally locked into either a 1 or 2 year contract, which probably scared a lot of people away because when they were first rolling it out no one knew how good the service would really be. But its not cheap to run fiber along the road and into your house, so I can understand why they’d want to get at least some money back out of it.

I have had the same Scientific Atlanta HD DVR since '03. The Samsung’s aren’t any faster from what I can tell, my cousin has one at his house and it acts the same as my 7 year old junker.
