This joint effort is not simply a couple guys holding some track days. It is a way for new drivers to get involved with all of the associated events, including the Grand Prix of Toronto where we have taken part 2 years in a row, as well as the annual NYspeed cruises deep into US Territory.
In years past we cannonballed to Carlisle for their annual meet. In 2007 it was Winged Warriors in Indianapolis, a combined car show, drag, autoX
I beleive Josh will again be leading a crew of 30+ cars to both the GPT and WW.
There is the media component as well. The annual HD DVD compilation of the years footage will be released under the The Onyx Syndicate banner… expect the 07 dvd early in 08 including footage from several SON240sx events.
Our first DVD under the OS banner is expected to drop on May 24th at our Summer Start event.
The event is already sold out on the driver’s side. A notable feat in itself.
We are in the midst of putting the pieces together for the IRL race at Watkin’s Glen over July 4th weekend in 2008.
This event will include a large scale rally through the best roads possible all the way from Buffalo to The Glen. It will also include a private, tented corral for our entourage, weekend passes to the race including grandstand seats, the largest fireworks display in Western New York, and various other parties over the course of the weekend.
It should stand to be the most accessible rally / multi-day event of it’s kind for people in WNY and Southern Ontario.
In a few weeks we will also initiate the full promotion of the SON240sx Niagara meet on June 8th, the SON240sx / Drift-Ops Pro-Am drift competition at the Dunnville Autodrome on July 12th, as well as other events planned for the back half of the season.
