Cost:

$20 for admission & food IF paid before April 20th. After April 20th or at-the-door, $30.
$100 for admission, food and at least 4 30 minute track sessions + Open track time

Break Down:

  • Lunch will be sometime between 1pm and 2pm.
  • Bottled drinks will be sold at the event
  • Beginner drivers will be able to have the advanced drivers ride-along with them during their sessions.
  • Track time will be broken down as follows:

11:00am to 11:30am - Group A
11:30am to 12:00pm - Group B
12:00pm to 12:30pm - Group A
12:30pm to 1:00pm - Group B
1:00pm to 2:00pm - Lunch and Drift Session w/ S1DC
2:00pm to 6:30pm - OPEN TRACK
6:30pm to close - Drift Demo (S1DC & approved drivers)

*Times may be adjusted during the day for track cleanup or other issues

During the scheduled lunch break the guys from S1DC will be joining us to tear up the track for some drift practice and exhibition. This is NOT open track time and is restricted to approved drivers. Regular track operation will proceed at 2pm after lunch. In the meantime, sit back, enjoy the tire smoke, and try and snag a ride in a drift car for an entirely different approach to a corner.

We are also thinking of having a rolling-burnout competition; who could lay the longest patch of rubber down the front straight.

Unlike BBQ meets of the past, this will be the first one where you’ll be able to not only hang out and talk cars, but you’ll be able to really drive them as well! Both DVD’s, 2006 (1) and 2007 (2), will also be showing at the event.

Please read the following “Onyx Syndicate Trackday Handbook” and sign the last page. You won’t be allowed on track if you have not read and signed it! Also, pay close attention to the rules - there have been some important changes!

Please post if you’re planning on attending and if you’ll just be joining us for the BBQ or you plan on driving at the event.

Items of note:

The lunch service is a professionally catered buffet presented by Mike (tpgsr) of NYspeed. He’ll be putting on a nice spread for us.

To give you an idea the majority of the food requires pre-prep and will be brought through customs already trayed and filleted… it’s a bit of a logistical issue for us, but at least you know that this is not a pop & chips scenerio.

Pre-payment is heavily recommended as many individuals have already pre-paid for the entire season and many more have expressed intent to confirm early on for the season opener. The total driver’s roster will be capped at a certain point.

The festivities will be covered in their entirety, in high-definition, for inclusion in the 2008 Onyx Syndicate DVD.

The trailer for the 2007 DVD has been released:

I’ll be there of course. Probably bringing an M5, turbo e30 M3, and a few other nice bits of EuroTrash. (And the Datsun of course)

Awesome Bing!

Is there an option of spectating for free and not eating Mike’s food?

Also, are “Group A” and “Group B” randomly selected or based on experience?

How many cars on track at a time during the 30 minute lapping sessions and open track?

A wrist-band policy will be in effect for the lunch service… so yeah you can come out for sure.

12 cars on-track at a time max.

because we will pretty much know whether you suck or not the classing wont be that formal.

is this event drift, grip, lapping?

if its drift im in

i`m down i can finally afford to do this. i really suck never been on a track before but i drive like a maniac so i think i can keep up lol could you pm me with your billing information so i dont forget to do this??? thanks

Grip. Except for times allotted for the S1DC guys (which is just for them).

That makes me definitely not be in the same group as you.

This sounds like a good time for sure!

i’m there!

Anyone driving recklessly will be booted, no question, no refunds. Endanger others and you are GONE.

Very cool ill be coming as long as my car is ready by that date

i have a question…how will pit areas work? …will everyone have their own areas for storage changeing tires working on their car ect…?

Why is there an hour for S1DC? Why not have another hour of track time?

The pit area is usually by the paddocks at Dunnville, near the track exit and entrance. There is plenty of room all over the place for the other festivities.

The purpose of this time slotting is because there will be a break for lunch… while the lappers are eating and chilling there will be some drift on-track to watch.

S1DC, and other approved drifters, will not be on the whole hour, they will be on for about 30-45 minutes, then a track clean up and commence open lapping.

although the last 2 hours of the day are unscheduled, at this time it looked like open lapping again for 1.5 hours and another dirft session to close out the day.

$100 for very limited track time and $20 for “admission” and a lunch. Sorry but thats a little laughable when you compare this to any other dunnville track day.

Compared to a “Marks” or “Dips” track day the value just isn’t there unless I’m missing something major here…

I may come spectate for free though to see for myself.

Another thought is that MOST (not all MOST) cars that come out for a track day don’t last 30 minutes of continuous lapping, so alot of guys won’t even get to use up the full session.

if it wasn’t abundantly obvious… we dont want EVERYONE to come…

This isnt going to be setup like our normal track days. The reason this one has a higher cost of entry is due to the “other” ammenities. Catered lunch, events in the afternoon, etc, etc. This isnt PURELY a track day. This is a lead in to summer events, with food, car show/meet, people showing of products, cars, , and so on. When you compare the amount of time you get to any normal track day with BMWCCA, PCA, NASA, etc the price is on par or cheaper than almost all of them. We may also break the morning sessions down into smaller groups. It’s something we’ve discussed on the phone but havent changed on the docket yet. At the 20 or so OTHER track days we’ve run at Dunnville with 30-35 cars we’ve never had an issue with track time and frequently been under the 12 car max for the last few hours of the day. All in all, it’s a pretty good value for the time, and what you’re getting.

But hey, what do I know, it’s not like I do these things during the summer, show up for yourself and see.

The $100 includes lunch (for drivers). So i’ts about $80 for the day driving if you break it down. That’s not comparable?
