iPhone on Verizon!!!!

The bionic is fucking hot, the only thing i dont like about my incredible is the lack of a real phone dock. The motorola phones always have better accessories. Dual cores don’t hurt the situation at all however. Definitely not a smart move to go to an iphone until an lte version comes out. It will be just as stupid as people that got the non 3g iphone.

Yeah, technically the iPhones don’t multuitask. This however as your said will not matter to a majority for the iPhone users. The whole mutliple app thing went by the wayside pretty much in 2.2 for android. Task killers are obsolete and battery life is pretty good. I get 2 days with WiFi on, and multiple apps throughout the day.

You can allways run a jailbroken app, ‘backgrounder’ that will allow true multitasking. I used it before, and it’s just useless if you ask me. There are limited instances when you would want a app to fully run in the background while using another. I would imagine it would drastically limit battery life, and impact performance. I usually have a hundred apps in my ‘multitask’ list and it isn’t impacting my devices performance. I don’t need to worry about closing apps, wondering why my phone is running slow, etc. I feel it’s absolutely the way to go with such a limited platform. You don’t have overkill processing power to chug through dozens of apps running. But I do usually have quite a bit of free ram. 512mb from 256 makes all the difference when you have lots of crap going on.

ahh. i dont download podcasts / download stuff in the background. thanks for the alternate point of view, i can see the value now.

i use alot of data i drive 5hrs to work once a week and i run the pandora radio app the whole way there and back and have done it since i got the original droid and now the droid x and have never had any overages or any other charges for over using the data.

my gf told me about this the other day cuz she works at verizon in the mall, the only thing im gonna give a fuck about is her commission check that month after it comes out lol

I do 5-10GB a month. Its usually emails, documents, and then streaming Pandora/XM/WEDG in the car.

My big concern is how the user experience is gonna be when you can’t use data and talk on the phone at the same time. Until Apple releases a LTE capable iPhone for Verizon to me that would be the biggest problem since a lot of times I keep my headset on and doing other stuff on my phone.

Also, if you were streaming radio on your phone and a call comes in, can the phone disable data for the call or do you risk not getting incoming calls if you are using data when a call comes in?

On my droid, pandora will pause when a phone call comes in. You don’t miss calls due to browsing/using data.

Conference calls are a good point, but where are you doing these calls from that you need your mobile? Does your office not a have landline? Are you not around a laptop while on calls? I’ve never once had a situation come up where I needed voice/data simultaneously.

Ah ok. I remember that was an old problem and knew it was still around only with the EDGE network on ATT so I figured it wasn’t a big issue with CDMA anymore either.

My desk phone is extended to my cell phone too so when my desk phone rings, i can pick it up on either phone and go back and forth with the call so I do keep my phone around me. Also on calls, I do a lot of lookups on my phone or remoted into something for information and stats. I guess connecting to WiFi will allow you to use both however, 3.5G is faster than my company internet connection.
