Everything I hear about the music store says profit margins are VERY thin.
Its because the RIAA is a bunch of greedy bastards who need to stop bitching about being poor
^^word. when i used to be a site admin on 3gupload/mixxer, and it got big, there was not nearly as much profit as there was before the RIAA got involved. they fscking blow.
Which is why they won’t disclose their portion of iTunes purchases.
Some have estimated to be as much as 70% and that the artist only sees 4 cents per song.
