Ya, I think I just might get an iPhone now, bc I would like to have everything all-in-one. Instead now I carry around my iPod and my phone. The upgraded functionality with the new apps is really great. Definitely a lot of potential.
LOL, Good.
Done and got Pandora app installed… WOW its awesome
Yea, they actually have the random music I listen to! Now if it only sounded better…
Its still amazing.
how long will it take to DL on 56k?
3-4 business days
Seriously the internet stops working on weekends and holidays
dumb
In theory it would take 8.9 Hours. thats at the 56K max for the 8.9 hours straight
edit: oops 8.9 hours not 13.4 :mamoru:
yea, it’s a 222 meg file i think. maybe let it download overnight?
i think my max is like 26k so call if 3-5 days… and i have to DL 7.7 so call it a week just to get the dumb thing to work…
edit: we will start with 7.7 first then next week work on 2.0
call the apple store? I’m sure they can get you a copy of 7.7 on a disc.
56kilobitspersecond = 7kilobytespersecond.
7 is your theoretical max… This is for all traffic too, webbrowsing + torrents + streaming gay porn + etc etc.
So overnight is probably your best bet with it… or get someone with a external/thumbdrive/whatever to download it for you and load it on.
i’ve already DL’d 2.0. i’ll throw bring my laptop to southgate next week, and you bring a flash drive. then you’ll have it.
Well 56 kilo bits per second is actually 8 kilo bytes so it will take you
222,000,000 bytes / 7,000 bytes per second = 27750 seconds or 462.5 minutes or 7.71 hours
Given you average about 4 kilo bytes a second on 56k, you can assume maybe about 14 hours.
56kbs / 8bit per byte = 7bytespersecond…
perhaps I’m missing something?
WTF? People are STILL using 56k??? Did you just wake up from 1995?
Why do you even have an iPod unless you load songs from CDs. Also, LOL @ CDs
he lives in the middle of nowhere. i don’t think broadband is an option over 56k to tell you the truth.
lol fat fingered it.
56kilo bits = 7 kilo bytes which is the speed that most people are used to seeing when they download
