Thats what happens when they get younger drivers. He wrecked during practice for god’s sake either him or the spotter was out to lunch. Sad day… :sadwavey:

Man was that crash nasty. At first from the footage I thought for sure that the guy sitting still had to have been killed…man, that was horrible…watching the footage not knowing what was going to happen and SLAM…so sad. My thoughts go out to his family and friends.
Something tells me it probaly all happened so fast that even if the spotters managed to get the yellows out. The most you’d be able to do at 200mph is hope to avoid the stopped car because you will never stop in time. A member on RacePA actaully knew Paul, I though his account of him was worth reposting if thats alright.
There was a good 4 secs between him spinnin and the wreck spotter should have had him stop its practice no need to try to get by.
there was also four or five cars go by the wreck befor him also!
young driver…dude was 30 somthing & had 5-10yrs of past driving experience.
he wasn’t one of those 17yr old rookies.
it was just wrong place @ the wrong time…
they said the caution was out for a while and paul was talking to his spotter on the radio…
i guess its jkust one of those things
very sad indeed… when i first saw it, my first thoughts were 'OMG he is dead" and i hoped he wasnt… tragically he passed
