internet speak, I use it. when you say it out loud, it’s kinda dumb.
I get annoyed when people say “anywayS”. I’m not even sure if it’s wrong, but it bugs the fuck out of me.
ANYWAY.
i screw up these all the time:
- alot
- acrossed
but i try and correct myself:
i really suck at “alot” though.
nyspeed search yeilds
133 “alot”
31 “a lot”
I hate when people say “I could care less” when it’s supposed to be “I couldn’t care less.”
Saying it the first way means you do actually care about whatever it is you are talking about.
true.
15.625% of people employed by my company use proper grammar.
The rest destroy the queens english on a regular basis.:banghead:
i hate y’all, i never heard it so much till I moved south, oh my god I want to punch the next person that says it in the splien
Just for the record; my sentences on NYSPEED may seem short or fragmented at times but this is done intentionally for easy reading.
I also hit “enter” after each point for easy reading as well.
Your welcome.

I have been thinking about it for a while now.:biglaugh:
Dude, spell check is my best friend.

You missed “your” though.:biglaugh:
YEA!!! An pet peeve thread about proper use of the English language. Now where’s Jeg and his cohorts that claim bad grammAr has nothing to do with intelligence…
I could take the last 65 minutes of work listing all the annoyance of bad grammAr (I never claimed to be perfect, I think) that I hear on a daily basis. But… I have a conference call that I have to call in to.
Now add a generic middle east accent to alot of these pet peeves and you have half my day summer up :bloated:
I’d like to thank Newman for my spelling lesson for today
