New York State Police Spokesman Captain Michael Nigrelli says just before 7am a red pick-up truck moved to the left lane to avoid a disabled van that was in the right hand lane. A motorcyclist slammed into the back of the pick-up truck and was ejected from the bike. The motorcyclist was then hit by a tractor trailer. Captain Nigrelli says the motorcyclist is from the Western New York area, in his early 30s and married with kids.
Rubberneckers on the north Grand Island Bridge heading southbound towards Buffalo caused another accident. There were no serious injuries but the bridge was closed off in that direction for a short period of time. The 190 southbound was re-opened just after 8am.
