In any event…there seem to be so many modified cars out there, and yet they have these laws and it seems to me that the hobby would be tough to be a part of out there. The few that live out there that have responded skirt the issue by keeping NY tags on their car.
I am not sure I would enjoy being in a hobby that could cost me thousands of dollars in fines on top of the thousands of mod/tuning dollars spent to “enjoy” my car.
There’s an old CA law that was rolled down the same time that bikes were allowed to split lanes back in the 70’s. It stated something about 2 tone cars being excluded.
Have you tried Open Mic nights to give your comedic talents a try off of the internet?
