Is your dad a racer or a ricer?

My dad is all go, no show.

He is one of the better drivers i have seen, and it runs in the family. His brother is a good driver too. Between both of them, they owned many bikes, cars and SUVs.

My dad owned an R31 Skyline fresh off the showroom in the old country, and said he topped it out many times driving on the country roads. I was 5 at the time, so i don’t remember much.

Too bad he has to drive a POS Dodge Stratus now. He drives it like a charm, but the damn thing has about 3 leaks along the entire drivetrain.

I hope i never get married and have kids.

all the OT posts have been erased.

enogh bullshit. if you wanna bicker do it somewhere else.

My Dad drives a 94 Civic ex, 250 km a day commute, and cannot justify spending money on an old car. So i’ll go with neither.

my dad drives a 2005 grand caravan with a dvd player console thing in it.

and a 1996 honda accord ex-r with VTEC!!!

but besides that he is a pretty conservative driver. however if someone does something that could endanger him he sure as hell lets them now.

i think one time i was in the car with him and someone cut us off HARD…, so he just fucking booted it up to this dude i think vtec kicked in (HAhahahahah) caught up to the dude got infront of him and tapped the brakes hard infront of the son of a bitch to scare him.

then the dude turned off to the ramp and he gave us a stare that i can’t describe. i think it was like “you’re fucking crazy and what did i do to deserve that” look but yea, i was staring right back at him with a big grin on my face.

Pops traded his 2004 TDI Jetta for a 2005 Mustang GT, white with blue shelby stripes. It hauls.

I’m slowly convincing him to add power and whip it around the track a few times, but its a tall order. He’s not too keen on endangering his baby

My dads definatly a racer, his car is his office, and he definatly kno’s how to drive… Hes owned a sporty car since i was old enough to remember, and all V-Dubs, now hes gone with an 05 jetta tdi, fully equiped, the car is very hot, n it doesnt drive like any other diesel, things got balls!!

Just like my dad.
He loves driving the 240 when I have it working causes its a stick. Never really owned anything to special. But when he is in a rush to get somewhere he drives what ever he is in like its a Dukes of Hazzard episode. Just he stays on the road the whole time.

Wow back from the dead much? I didn’t even realize it till now.

Here, here!!

My Dad got me into track racing as well. He’s very definitely a racer at heart.

He used to have a Porsche 944S hobby car, sold it and got a Volkswagen VR6 Jetta for a while, sold that and got an Infiniti G35 which he’s now planning on buying out, and potentially turboing later.

He took me to the track in the 944 a couple times back in the day, and I helped him perform all the mods on it (all suspension work, retained completely stock motor except cat-back exhaust).

He liked my 240 a lot, and he REALLY likes my Rx-7, but tells me his sportscar days are over. He’s more into the sport sedans now (ie. the G35)… aww well. He did say he wants to get another hobby car in a couple years; something old, british, and convertible just to cruise around in. shrug

My dad isn’t into cars and couldn’t care less what he drives (although he
prefers his domestics :hsugh: )

He has however helped me with many shit for my car, including custom
fabrication of stuff, as well as a lot of my susp work.

Not a racer, but definitely not a ricer either. Although he does gun it at
every red light, even if no one is racing him :ugh:

My dad has always been into cars you still hear about all his mustang stories he owned quite a few of them… now he drives a GMC Sonoma and wants to do work to it so we made an agreement since i just bought my 240sx were going to help eachother on our cars  He’s a speed demon!

We should have a dads race track day, I would like to see if your dads can back up your talk.

My sisters dad never cared about cars or ever will as long as he is driving model that is the same as the year we are in. He doesn’t support me unless its school or sports. :squintfinger:

My mom’s boyfriend on the other hand had a 240 in 1990 and loves my car just as much as me.

as for my dad  someone hug me.

please stop doing stupid things on highway 10 all your doing it making it worse for people like me who live in orangeville.

:grouphug:

i’d say my father is a racer… and hates ricers.

drives a 95 gmc 1/2 ton truck and is EASILY pissed off road rage wise
so watch out for a red gmc with a metal rack on the back, dont cut him off.

i think hes niether, just likes a nice car, its an 02 altima with 17 motegi FF6 (wants to upgrade to 18s w/ deeper lip) eibach pro kit, nismo side skirts, front grills (upper/lower), eyelids, 22 auto headers, soon to be exhaust

i would say my dad is neither a racer or a ricer
hes more into the drifting b4 we got rid of are all wheel drive volvo he used to take it out drifting with me in the snow down dead streets going side to side

you bastards

my dad drives a buick regal to work because it’s comfortable

before that he had the caravan because he got it cheap.

He was a racer before my time though … he used to drive a turbo mustang. He sold it when my mom got 3 speeding tickets in two days.

My dad drops a ton of cash on other things but he refuses to spend a single cent on car stuff now a days …
