do u have mapped drives of any kind, you might have to manually set the thumb drive letter.
yes, I thought this might be the problem I have about 7 mapped network drives…
How do I go about manually assigning a drive letter, I couldn’t see any option in the device props…
yeah the thumb drive is trying to take over a mapped drive, just change it manually.
yeah how…If I go into Device Manager, select the drive, and goto volumes everything is empty…If I click populate, it sets it to drive F (a network drive) but then gives me all the details for the network drive…it wont let me change it :gotme:
the easy way is to disconnect F, then the drive will use that letter, but im sure F is something important to your company.
yeah F is our main network drive…I’d rather not disconnect it…this is also the reason why I was having problems with the iPod (see ranting thread)…
Oh there’s also processes running off the F drive…
Fuck it, I re-mapped F to G and disconnected F
Go into computer management and then disk management. Change the drive letter there.
right click the drive in my computer and change the letter there. I usually call them Z
yay done…changed F to Z, remapped VOL1 to F

:ham: on me for not doing into Disk Management
