itb on ka24de

i have been wanting to try this for awhile now.

http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Nissan_240SX_Performance_Modification/KA24DE_and_KA24E/ITB's

do anyone of you know if i need to go with the distributorless set up?and where can i get a trigger wheel made?

im planning one VERY soon. Im going to build a plenum though so that i can use the stock maf.

ballin

i think i migh do that to.so i will need to make a plate for the plenum.using the stock runners and going to cut it. now i just need to source gsxr 1000 itb and velocity stacks

will a emanage work with this ?

breaker whats your msn?

anyways i found some stuff on diyauto tune. i think i might go with the megasquirt and get a crank trigger from there.all i need is gsxr 1000 throttle bodies which can be found on ebay,ka sohc throttle cable and a ford escort igniton

is it i_like_limes@hotmail.com

come online lol

dont u have to convert from maf to a map to do that?

e-manage is like megasquirt so it should work

you can use the nissan pick up with a ka24-e engine it has throttle bodies mounted side ways like that i imagine they would work

oh and the maf is built into them and there at every junk yard

You dont HAVE to convert to map sensor. But you will not be running correct fuel levels, it will be very very difficult to tune this with a MAFS sensor since your air readings will be so out of whack.

Yes the emanage has a MAP sensor input.

im ight go with the open itb set up.but reconcidering it be alot easier to do the set up with a plenum and maf(map) set up. what if i add a feul pressure regulator and get sr injectors.would that help with the fuel levels?

what do you guys think? read the photo captions . anyhow the plenum will be made of plexi glass as a test peice .so later i will make one out of aluminum.i still need to get my gsxr 1000 TB.as of now i have removed the buterflies and cleaning the runners.

You still won’t run the correct fuel levels, you’ll probably run super rich no matter what injectors you run. This is because (correct me if im wrong) the mafs will not have a correct reading and the ecu will dump fuel through the injectors.

MAP is the way to go for a setup like this.

im thinking we’ll probably be super lean not rich. itb’s are going to allow a shit ton more air in.

would using an apexi safc 2 or neo allow me to correct the fuel levels?

Dan, you’re wrong, if you run this set up with a full plenum and down to a MAF it will work. The MAF reads all air that goes past it, so if it’s a sealed plenum, it has to read all the air, therefore the injectors are gonna be spitting the right amount of fuel. It’s basically the same as stock.

Just make sure you make the plenum big enough, and get good airflow to it or you won’t see any of the benefits you’ll be shooting for with ITBs.

ow big should i make the intake plenum.?
