It's a cold day in hell

Ford is still a family owned operation, sorta. The Ford family is still involved in the day to day operations of the company and they have an outlook to keep the company up. GM hires a CEO who could give a fucks less what happens after he retires or gets fired. I think that has something to do with it. Ford started selling off brands and cutting jobs slowly over the past few years and is now leaps and bounds above GM and Chrysler. GM and Chrysler and now government controlled pieces of shit while Ford is still a viable company.

what is considered a “sweatshop”?
