Your point is still as ass backwards as it could possibly be though. The migration of industry out of the Unites States is KILLING us. We’re losing tons of jobs, we’re totally dependent on foreign nations/economies, we have no earning power. Wall Street fabricated it all, told us the country was as profitable as ever… but the gains were all on paper. It was all imaginary. All of the economic “prosperity” we’ve been experiencing over the last 10 years has been due to cheap, abundant, endless credit. Millions of jobs have been shipped overseas, and with them the wages that should still be here in America. Thats less money in the economy. More people on welfare/unemployment, which are both funded by the aforementioned credit which no longer now exists.
This is what pisses me off about Ron Paul. He’s totally about the free market. The free market is what got us to this point to begin with. You should all know by now how much I LOATHE big government, but this is one of those places where they better step in, or we’re all fucked.
ok i see where you’re coming from- looks like a misunderstanding
1- for the most part i agree
2- i wasn’t giving my opinion i was stating a reality that our GDP is basically entirely dependent on our gov’t spending and our consuming since:
we have no exports
there is no corporate investments into infastruture bc of sweatshops (this is true in all countries except countries that have sweatshops- why invest here when it’s cheaper there theory?)
cheap stuff drives consumer spending since we don’t have anything but service jobs… congrats on your bachelors degree johnny, good news… applebees is hiring
OK I guess you’re right…even if all the a working environment meets all the criteria of a sweatshop, but is slightly better than the norm it negates the fact that people are working in poor/unsafe environments and are paid only a few dollars/day…you are a genius.
I will somewhat agree with you on the second point…but I don’t think it is as easy as some people make it. We live in a country where the gvt loves to give handouts. I do think though a lot of people accept things too easily though.
your criteria of a sweatshop is probably a lot different than their criteria for a sweatshop. Looking at it from our perspective, it is definately bad but they may think it’s the best job in the world.
Hell, people that work for PennDOT probably think that us people that actually have to work more than 3 hours a week are working in a sweatshop, compared to their job.
If you are not disabled, there is no reason you should be on government handouts. If Katrina had hit Pittsburgh, motherfuckers would have been up pitching tents, building shelter, providing for themselves, etc… The worthless shitfucks down in Nawlins are going on 4 years now and still living in government trailers, living off of a government check, bitching that they havent been moved into something nicer yet. That shit straight pisses me the fuck off.
