Last week, I went to Verizon to see if I could get a new phone because my 7 key sometimes works. I hit a curb on the way in. Went into the store fuming because I KNEW it messed up my car… and the customer standing next to me at the desk had just done the same thing. Ahh!
So here’s the curb. I took pictures of it today.
Has anyone else seen this? Or run into/over this?
It looks like a lot of people have…and this thing has to go. Don’t really know who to call but I’m calling somebody. It’s a horrible design and makes no sense… since it’s a ‘go one way in one direction around a building’ entrance.
I brought my car into Northtown to get it checked out. I need a wheel bearing and an AXLE. Great.
Now I’m driving around a wagon while my car gets fixed. I’m enjoying it more than I thought.
The new outbacks are amazingly nice compared to our family’s 1999.
And this happened last night on Sheridan:
We saw this Jeep with something weird bolted/welded to the back of it…
Jan: What’s THAT?!
I kinda had to go up a curb yesterday. Has anyone ever gotten lucky to get that spot closest to the store but you can’t quite make the turn and you are up againt the curb. So either you back out and try to straighten out so that you don’t hit the curb… or you just realize you can climb the damn thing?
I popped it in 4wd just for fun went up the curb and then down when I was in the spot with this Asian family watching me.
But ya… I know that curb… bad placement for sure
its there so people don’t hit the row of cars that are sometimes parked there
if you have a problem hitting curbs … to the point that you want to complain that its there … start using the steering wheel more … steering wheels, when used properly, help you avoid obstacles
Where are the autox kiddys…I guess driving fast through parking lots at autox could help you avoid situations like this in real life driving conditions.
hey guys, lots of other dumb people have done the same dumb thing that I did? who will protect us? Who should I complain to? Who should I sue for my own stupidity? Someone is to blame here and it is NOT ME!
now if a MAN had hit the curb, he’d be BRAGGING about how big of a chunk he took out of the concrete … no matter how much damage he caused to his car
ill never forget the time my sisters friend was driving his moms car on the 90 … tierod failure = 96 montecarlo blasting the gaurdrail at 90 mph … then doing a barrel roll down the side of the highway … killing one of the huge signs alongthe side
he was proud about how much of the gaurdrail was ripped out of the ground, and also about how the sign was ripped to shreds, lol
the other customer was a 40-50 year old man. and driving around cones doesn’t help you avoid badly-designed parking lots.
I’m not asking for protection and I’m not going to sue… just think they should fix it.
I’m saying it’s a bad design… obviously I wasn’t the only one who hits this thing.
as for the whole blaming and stupidity thing… you’re just trying to start shit. which is fine… keep making yourself look like an ass. it’s fun, isn’t it?
Ya,I usually eat at quiznos about once a week and i’ve never hit it.Definitely gotta swing around it a little bit though.Quite akward when another car is going around the corner at the same time.
The eastern hills mall parking lot by office depot is weird now, seems poorly designed.
