Any word on a rebirth of the grand national? I’ve been reading on about GMs job cuts to remain profitable and their line-up being fewer models but greater entries into the niche markets, one of which is the rebirth craze going on now.
there was talks, when they move the GTO to the new platform, to share it with Buick, and Chevy. But they shit canned that idea, and extended the Australian contract with Holden to keep producing the GTO till the 2007 model year on it’s current “Commodore” platform. Which the CTS shares with it.
People were saying GTO/Chevelle/Grand National/CTS
hopefully that rebirth becomes an abortion…
Besides, i hope GM go straight into the shitter for the way the fucked OLDS.
they should never have developed Saturn, and redirected the funding into making Olds, more “original” like they were supposed to
if no turbo, no care
i agree they should leave all old car legends die dont fuck them up!! if they brought back a gn i hope it is a good design lot of peps will be pissed! now if it is a good one then maybe i would buy one…only if still 3.8 turbo
There was a hell of a photochop floating around of a new style GN, but it was proven to be just that, a photochop.
GM has tons of things that they could do, but doubt they will. Face it, GM just doesnt have the balls to build a “big risk/big reward” car that some companies do. Recently, the company that has taken the biggest chances on hit or miss designs has been Dodge. I think they really did a nice job on the Magnum, the 300, the Charger, and the new Dodge Rams… The dakota/durango tho, yikes :eek2:
ya i saw that photchop it was a really good on though…i was excited 3.8 turbo all wheel drive auto or 6 speed twin turbo i was rdy to sell my cars and everything i own to buy one when i found out it was fake i was upset! as for the new dodge line the charger is nasty all with the daytona ram truck! but hey each there own
I agree… It was a really exciting concept, sucked it was a fake.
Your right, to each there own, but at least Dodge has the balls (and the capital, apparently) to take that risk in order to sell some cars… GM doesn’t seem to want to do that.
that gnx concept kinda looked like a sunfire in the front.
saturn didn’t turn a profit for atleast its first 10 years. Fuck saturn and fuck GM.
speaking of bringing back older cars…
the new charger looks like SHIT!!! IMO
x2, but it fucking blows that americans have to lose another 25000 jobs.
I really wish these companies would stop bringing back old car names, they all suck. I was down caste last sunday and overheard 2 old dudes talking about their GTO’s and some young kid was there saying how his new POS GTO is faster, better mpg, etc… Me and my dad were both saying that when someone says GTO, you should think of the old musclecars, not the new pieces of shit ( sorry gray05, I just don’t like them  )
as far as the grand national, it would only make GM look worse than they do now and i’m glad the program got scrapped. Nothing is as good as the original and it’s good to see that we can remember the original for what it was
WAL-MART should come out with a Automobile.
Thier not hurting at all :kekegay:
Damn, they need to throw on some safety crap and enlarge it a bit.
It would sell better than all Fbodys combined for the last 35 years :kekegay:
so they would only have to sell about 3000 cars then?
cts is sigma platform !!! not the same as the gto i dont think
/ urself … but seriously f bodies been downhill for a while i mean who wants a fast car outta the box anymore why not modd a riced out pos daily driver ??
the majority of people want a nice car, not a POS with a motor. my $.02
But I agree, f-bodies have been going downhill since 1969.
camaro has always went 2nd to the corvette and until some of the later ws6’s/ss’s i’d hardly consider fbody’s fast out of the box
