iTunes 7.5 wont work for me......HELP

Ive tried to install iTunes 7.5 3 times so far and every time, I can install it but it wont open/run. Im about to go on a roadtrip tomorrow and I want to update my Ipod before I go. How can I get an older version of iTunes that acutaly works?

Ya I have every time and whenever I click on iTunes, it does NOTHING. Ill give it a good 5 mins to do something and nothing happens.

If you run task manager does Itunes show up as running?

check its running process and maybe its doing something… if you see cpu or memory changing, just wait. it will open.

Under applications it doesnt show up but under processess it does. CPU and Memory is not changing. Ive tried installing the older versions of iTunes but it says that the iTunes Library is not valid because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. It basically seems like Im screwed right now. These are the steps that i do:

Unistall Itunes
Restart Comp
Install different versions of Itunes
Restart Comp
Try to open Itunes, doenst open
Unistall Itunes
Restart Comp
Etc…
