Is there a way for someone to copy music files from a shared itunes?
yea, browse to the location of the files and copy them, itunes does not allow you to copy through itunes though.
i know of a way to get all musice off someone elses ipod to your computer if you dont have that music? is that what you want
how do i know the location?
look in their itunes properties and see where the library location is…
if it’s windows it is probably in my doc’s/my music/itunes
if its mac it is probably in usr/music/itunes
alternatively, you could do a search for *.mp3 
I looked into this a while ago, back when iTunes 7.2 was out, and the newest version of iTunes at the time supposedly blocked people from doing this. Since its been a year or two since then, and theyre onto 8.x, id imagine its not really possible without physical access to the computer. But if the other comp has iTunes 7.1 or below, you should be good to go. Theres software that would do it.
^^ what he said. the new version prohibits the copying of shared music.
when i had the old version i think i used ourtunes…
Sharing your library over a network is only used for streaming content. If however you share your music folder over a network, then music can be transferred that way. And as posted above there is third party software that will get music off of an iPod.
