J n L performance on walden

as far as i know, ive only heard good things about them, i was refered to them by all my older buddies who race their v8’s, and my dads best high school buddy whos an executive over at gm who brought everyone of his engines over there when he was a kid, pauls the owner, hes been in business for 25 years i believe

anyways, picking up my engine in a few days, final bill for assembly, 790$, degreed in the cam, everythigns installed, ready for the turbo and to hook up all the electronics

this thing better not blow, im shooting for high 10’s, this is my first built motor, last one was boosting a stock block, guess ill find out on the dyno if itll hold

k

i guess id like to know what experiences anyone on here has had with them?

but you were already reffered by all your buddies who race v8’s and a GM exec… what more could you need?:roll2:

i need more reassurance

Probably should have asked for opinions before shelling out $800 for assembly

i did a long time ago, and im fine with it cause theyre reputation seems to be great

i am asking YOU guys if any of YOUS have gone through them

i dunno nyspeed, have any of YOUS guys done anything gone through them…

it seems like your mind is already made up… hope everything works out, cuz its too late for you…

I bought a crankshaft from them for one of my old talons and had no problems with it. I hope this gives you reassurance

well i appreciate the feedback i guess

honestly never heard of the place. about the best i can do is offer you a recommendation to a SUPERB Ford engine builder…not sure thats gonna help though

i didnt have very god experiances there when i got my heads done. so i had brian over at BRK on walden build my whole motor. smokin deal over there. straightforward guy and easy to deal with.

I had them fix a flywheel I blew up and they did a great job. Fast inexpensive, good work, easy to deal with.

We sometimes get parts from him for work. I’m not too sure about anything they do but so long as your tune is proper and you dont over rev your engine you should be fine.

It’s all just metal.

good guy, we get alot of shit from there, and they will actually tell you if you need something or if its a waste of money, and he will talk to you and give you suggestions, not just try and sell you shit and get you out of the door.

I tried to get a Nitrous bottle filled there and the guy was a fucking tard.

My father always used to go there when he was younger and used to do a lot of work on a Jeep he owned. [back when he was in his twenties]

Recently we redid the heads on our GMC Suburban.
They did all of the work on them. Like, I don’t know what they actually did lol.
But they made it look all new again =]
and they work like a charm.

Good rep, no personal experiences to relate.

Friend got his machine work done there, told him what he wanted, how much power he was gunning for. 383ci, cnc’d dart 220cc heads, told him he wanted to make 10.75-11:1 compression, vic jr, intake, big cam, 750demon carb, forged bottom end, told him his goal was 500hp. (Now mind you my old 383 with an almost identical combo made 550hp on an engine dyno)

His reaction, he laughed in my buddies face, told him he’d be lucky to make 400hp and that it wasnt possible to run 11:1 compression with pump gas, and that he would detonate like a bastard. I told my buddy the guys a homo and i’d take my parts back and walk away, he doesnt have a clue. He stayed and got the machine work finshed up because another freind refered him, but i told him to let me assemble it rather than that guy. I’ve done all my own machine work and assembled all my own engines, i dont trust many people with my stuff. Jan-Cen has always been my go-to guys, maybe be alittle more pricey but you get what you pay for imo.

End product: machine work seemed ok on the block, still wouldnt take anything of mine to him.
