Update: installed built motor, N/A…9.0:1 and it’s damn near exactly like driving a B18B1 swapped hatch up to 5000 RPM. The tune is not 100% by any means, but it was enough to go get gas. With Blox B cams set to 0/0 degrees, hitting VTEC it’s like waaaa/wAAAAA/stumble…lol, not even close to what was before…certainly drivable tho. Less than 100 miles on it…still breaking it in N/A. Joe, may want to see you soon for a street tune on this set up to avoid hurting it.
H/D, thank you for the build. That thing fired right up and sounded perfect. Valve lash is set spot on, valves are quiet as can be.
Old B18C1 is out. Saw an assload of Nitrous and was starting to burn a ton of oil. I’m probably going to rebuild that swap to > 250 HP N/A as a backup motor, just in case.
Same transmission with ACT 6 puck and some Jesus juice/synchro-mesh for now. Backup tranny input shaft bearing is toast. Needs a rebuild for sure. Still looking for someone that knows these trans to rebuild it.
One CEL, code 1…no biggie, probably a toasted O2 from sitting so long.
More to come later this year. That’s all for now. Thanks to Jeff at 1st-Try for all the help getting this thing together even if I’m a slacker…
NIce Justin, glad to hear you are still working on it. It’s been so long since we heard from you, I was starting to think you’d abandoned it (or your wife set it on fire).
What happenend to the hatch Justin? Where is this Teg from?
I have the T1 catch can, which is exactly what that one is. 4 -10an INLETS, 2 -10an inlets that double as drainbacks into the block. Aside from shoddy manufacturing it has been excellent. It doesn’t matter about the vertical arrangement of the ones off the cover, but the lower ports on the breather should flow downward to the block. This will help with efficient draining under condition where crankcase pressure is null.
hmmmm - never knew the vertical placement mattered. Maybe this is why I got smoke on downshifts? Never did figure it out on my turbo’s Accord. I think it was vacuuming oil through the valve seals. Nice tip though.
