Seen the motor build up today. The intake manifold is looking good seen the clutch… everything looks well put together… cant wait to see it run!

The motor is mounted in the engine bay and not on a jack, so we’re pretty far ahead. Big thanks to bgblockelcamino, naeh2na and Black Integra for all the help today.

We are pretty much done with the major mechanicals. The chip can wait until Sunday night maybe…I don’t know if we’ll be at firing stage Sunday or not, honestly. Can I call you if we get to “chip install and burning” stage?

Car is running…Jeff moved the ignition timing around a little and it fired right up…thanks go to fmfkid250 and Hycomp for sourcing a well running swap!

Thanks go to 01DC04 for letting me borrow his chipped P28 to do the initial fire-up and for the test run.

Jeff took it out for the maiden voyage and I rode shotgun. Car pulls OK and runs very nicely. Got a full tank of the good stuff, then Jeff throws the keys to me and says “drive your car back to my shop”. That’s when the fun began. I popped the axle out within three turns…a few hammer beats later and the car was running OK again. Limp’ed 'er back to the shop for a new half-shaft tomorrow. I think I will keep a few extras in the car just in case…

Thanks…but to be honest, these guys hardly let me get near the car to work on it! I couldn’t have done it without the help of a lot of people: fmfkid250, hycomp, Black Integra, bgblockelcamino/1st-try, naeh2na, 01DC04, rickoner, fico, and everyone else that talked me through the various todo’s and listened to my ADHD ramblings. I learned a LOT of stuff from these guys over the last few days about getting a car running and swap stuff for 92-95 eg hatches.

I’m gonna work out the bugs N/A then we’ll see about the FI setup. Thinking a GT35R, intercooler, bigger injectors (like 1000cc), pipes, etc. in the mid-spring to early summer timeframe once I re-learn how to drive a FWD.

nice way to go man…as soon as i get my new head on we got to roll i want to see what my car does compared to yours n/a
