I wasn’t in the moment during Chernobyl, I was probably building a fort instead. But I’m willing to bet they did their best to sweep that under the rug as it was unfolding as well.
This is how governments do, they try to keep people calm and their economy somewhat stable as all hell breaks loose. Look at the credit bubble here in the US (and eventually globally). Every quarter the earnings/announcements kept getting worse and worse. By no means am I comparing a banking crisis to that of a nuclear/health issue of course…just sayin it’s what go-mints do.
How come this can’t happen to any of the countries we’re at war with so we can save some money, time and soldiers lives??? 8/
Government and officials lie in these situations at the expense of the citizens and shareholders.
Perhaps it buys the big boys time to exit their positions to some extent.
The industry folks are sure to lie because it’s self preservation, or an attempt at it anyhow.
The government lies…well every time their mouth opens up.
We’ve not seen rock bottom yet for Japan IMO. Further sugar coating is needed most likely.
every other day another 7.0 quake… radiation scares, economic uncertainty… on top of the fact that japanese men are larger consumers of make-up than are japanese women… and then they live into thier 90’s which is totally useless…
Update: Reports are that they are now using duct tape to save the world from nuclear disaster. You may now go back to ignoring the biggest threat to humans.
