Hi guys,
I’m on jspec-imports.ca and the car i’m looking at only has a 7 digit Vehicle ID, which i can’t enter into CARFAX or any other website because they require 17 digit numbers.
Someone please help, I want to know the history of the car before I buy it. Is there a way I can check the history of the car?

You can’t.
The only way you’e going to get a vehicle history is if J-spec contacts the dealer selling the car and they have service records from the vehicle.
The only other way is to have the car inspected in japan, or if it’s from an auction car, have the auction sheet translated.
Fly to japan and talk to dealer selling the car…
oh, knowing how to speak and read japanese would also help since odds are very good you wont know what hes telling you and even if he gave you all tha paper work on the vehicle history, unless you can read japanese or have someone to traslate for you, then your shit outta luck

Spend $2Gs flying to Japan making sure the car is in good shape vs. spending $5gs getting it fixed here?

Better hurry up. Import law may be changing very soon. I haven’t gotten confirmation yet, but it seems likely.

Go up to Japanese Imports, Or JDM Imports And talk to Gabe and Mitch, they’ve got cars on the lot and mechanics on site.
