You do realize that US airshows are NOTHING like that right? There are TONS of safety regulations here, and the jets are not allowed to get remotely close to the spectator area while doing any types of aerobatics.
Of course. But there have been American air show fatalities as well. Plus when a guy is out of control in a plane, I’m pretty sure all the restricted air space rules go out the window.
Nah man, it’s cool. The american air shows inform gravity about their rules and regulations. Something like this could never happen here.
Phew! I feel better now.
lol… moron

Air Shows offer a considerable and historically safe environment for millions of air show spectators each year. Since current rules were implemented nearly 50 years ago, there has not been a single spectator fatality at a North American air show, an enviable safety record for any business.
If an airshow is too scary for you I hope you wear a helmet 24/7/365, because you’re more likely to die tripping down the stairs than at an airshow.
It’s hard to be a car guy and not be interested in a machine that will do twice the speed of sound. Hell, at an autocross this summer an F18 flew over at low altitude and the event almost came to a complete stop. Real men will stare in awe at anything with a lot of power.
I’m not scared. I just don’t care.
holyfuckingshit!!
that is the russian equivalent to the F-15 Strike eagle. you can see the one turbine quit with the puff of smoke. Those jets can run on 1 turbine but not when your doing shit like that.
I saw this a long time ago. Yes its a terrible tradgedy. the pilot tryed to save it when he pulled up over the other crowd, but theres people everywhere. and with almost no control or power with 1 turbine, he made a pretty valiant effort to minimize casualties.
with something that big going that fast and with that size explosion 79 deaths is not that bad. Tragic yes, but it could have been a lot worse.
lol @ statements like this. According to burger kings new commercials, real men eat their garbagy food. I guess I’m only a third of a man. Luckily I just bought a new Venus to shave my cooter.
But I agree with Jaysgreenlx, I just don’t give shit. Put me in one of the jets and do some crazy stunts- then hell yeah. But to just sit there and watch it is boring.
Aircraft is a Russian-made Su-27 Flanker. Note the direction and altitude the aircraft is heading in, American / Canadian flightlines have hard decks and pass areas that keep crowds safe… I didn’t even see a cordion to keep people from the runway. :bloated:
About 1:42, I was like, damn that shit don’t look like compressor blades or pitots…
Won’t stop me from being at Geneseo this year :gotme:
Thats why the incident was attributed to pilot error. They were on the wrong side of the field and much too low when coming out of the maneuver. There was no room to recover… and they could have fully recovered if they had another 300ft of altitude.
lol… cause it’s true.
maybe you should sell all your cars and just start walking to work too…oh wait you might get hit by the paperboy on his 10 speed that way too
