Your buddy is seemingly the only person to ever feel that way. Go drive an ej207 with the avcs disabled and tell me that it’s just an emissions device. A 3076 makes power well over 7,200 thankfully.

when its disabled with the avcs cams and tune your timing is full retarded. so theres the reason you will loose power.

a 3076 makes good power over 7200 but does your motor? and can it keep up?

There is a decent review with some comparisons between ATP gt3076 (iwg and EWG) and some really impressive 20g’s that support the idea that the power and with the gt3076 would be much more impressive than a 20g, especially on a 207. Why you would want to push a 20g to 30psi to make less power than you could with a 3076 at mild levels is beyond me.

less overall power or peak hp yes. but power under the curve and power through the entire band idk.

the 20g is a fast spooling turbo with the 7cm side. with a ewg it holds boost up top too.

the 3076 is a slower spooling turbo. esp with the bigger exhaust housing options.

the single avcs you have does not change the size of your turbo housing.

avcs is for emission as much as its for linear n/a power.
