MUCH cleaner.
I would venture to say he prefers the look of a full interior and didn’t find HVAC necessary to fit his needs with the car.
I don’t have HVAC and have full interior too.
fair enough, just curious
Word,I can’t really say what his reasons are anyhow. Just figured I would share. After driving some of the season without part of the interior made me realize that i much prefer the look of a finished interior. Also I am not sure if he did but I retained a fan in my setup. So although I have no heat or ac I do still have a fan to blow on the windows. I was stuck in a downpour once last year and it really helped.
Yeah I was thinking that although you wouldn’t use the fan often, it would be a big help in the rain and stuff.
race car!
Studderin 2.0?
i ditched everything for heat/ac in my truck just like the op did. no issues with needing defrost. if it starts fogging up on a colder night i just open the side window a couple inches and it clears up right away. works just as fine if i ever get caught in the rain, but my truck dosent go out on rainy days. i imagine thats probably the same for the op.
i like the changes on the car, look forward to see what else is getting done.
I was curious about the heat thing and fogging up good to know I plan on ripping it out of my car.
Not to go too off topic in JT76’s thread but a lot of people rip out the stock HVAC stuff and then put in a smaller more lightweight heater unit like this.

Looks go Jim!..and would you just look at that garage!
Yeah if it becomes an issue I will pick up one of those light weight units. Turbols1 didn’t run hvac last year and had no issues. I think I will be fine. As for power I’m not sure. Most people with these heads/intake/similar cam make anywhere from 450-480 Rwhp. I’m just curious to see what it will do at the track.
Nice, this project makes it so much easier to work on the car!
What ever happened with your turbo build, I seem to remember you having the turbo, and starting to piece that all together.
I like this, very much. Zeee bottle should be able to get it in the 9s or close to it IMO if you go that route. I am willing to be there are a bunch of cars with way less power then me that et similar this season. I want to see manual trans cars in the 9s damnit!
 I have always liked this car.
I never knew how nice that rear compartment would look with just carpeting. Very cool.
It would be nice, i would REALLY like a 10.99999 on motor this year, i hope i am up to the task. Mainly i want to just have fun and get back into the groove so to speak. I havent raced on a dragstrip since 2009 and that year only 3 passes
Anywho, this came in today:
SJM abs direct fit kit and line lock. Eliminates the ugly ABS block and saves ~15lbs. I guess i could have made my own for less money, but this saves time and frustration.
Yeah I hate making brake lines. Also you should take those lines over to Classic tube
http://www.classictube.com/contactAuto.asp
And have a few sets made for the local guys. They are cheap. Not sure if you saw that I converted my entire car to stainless lines(i has issues) but I made the rough form using all spare/factory line then they replicated the entire cars worth of lines in stainless for around $200.
Badass.
you get a little fog with the windows opened, during the rain, but not enough to make it undriveable. I kept a roll of paper towels with me, but never really had an issue.
Rainx anti fog works well too. I never used it in the s10, but I have used it in winter vehicles before. (it will wash off when you clean your windows tho)
The s10 has no heater / blower. I drove it right thru october without issues. A few mornings the windshield was a little fogged from sitting outside overnight, but I’d just open a window while letting the engine warm up and it would subside.
not only is this build clean, but I’m anxious to see the numbers it puts down on and off spray.
You won’t need any heat for the windows unless you decide to go cruising when it’s 38 out. Keep a towel tucked into the door sill or console. You don’t (and shouldn’t) drive your car around in the rain judging by the tires you run. I got stuck in the rain coming back from the track last year and the windows started to fog pretty bad. I just rolled both of them down a few inches and it cleared up quite a bit. Engine compartment looks real clean!
