Jumping up a size in tires question

So my brother found a deal online for some tires but insted of being 195/65R-15 they are 205/60R-15.

It says they will fit his car, 99accord, but what will this do to his ride? Its the same wall thickness right? The second #(60) is a % of the width (205).

How about the drive in snow, wider tire = “more traction” but isnt have a skinner tire better in snow? AND the jump from 195 to 205 cant really do much.

What do you guys think

Run 'em. Speedo will be off 1.2%. Probably is off that far stock anyway.

You really won’t notice a difference between a 196 and a 205.

Skinny is better for snow, while wider is better for dry.

Tires are labeled:
195/60R-15
Tread Width (mm)/Sidewall Height (mm)R -Inside Mounting Radius (in)

The second tire is wider and shorter. If the first tire is good in the snow the second tire [i]could[i/], and most likely will, be worse.

195 is a good width for an actual SNOW tire, not all seasonals. Personally, I would buy a good Tire/Steelie combo for the winter on any vehicle and swap out during the seasons rather than trying to find a good deal and driving them into the ground.

thanks guys

depends on the bro but i think we might just go to Swerve. Theres a nice snow tire there for a good price.

Maybe next yr he will get steelies
