Yeah, DSS owned all back when I was getting it for free. Damn P4 cards. And to top it all off the f’in wind storm last night knocked the dish out of allignment so I gota get out there and redo the bitch.

Cable sucks…its < dish in pretty much all catagories, Price, picture quality, HD quality, service, etc…
Zoom is the shit but but i’m not sold on it till they get a little better channel lineup (sports packages, etc…)
Currently i’m running direct…but soon i’m setting HD locals & HD Direct.
also playing around with using an old dish (single LNB) to view all the other satellites & getting a Pansat 2500 free-to-air Reciever.
All you got to do is re-flash the memory in the Pansat with your PC & point the dish @ dish network sat. & you can get everything.
& its not illegal…cause you not tampering with their equipment…just using your own stuff & pointing at their sat.
this only works with dish, (not direct)
from what i read…dish trys to encrypt the signal but all the mew hacks/flashes for the pansat pretty much clear the signal up.
yeah the Hughes HD DVR’s is nice but its like $900-$1000…OUCH!!

Not really sure how many people know this but HDTV is broadcast with all the local channels, so if you have an HD capable tuner in your TV… Hook yourself up digitally…

I think Comcast is cool and all but it costs so much. I am poor white trash and can’t afford much. I have beat ass people PC dial up as my internet b/c it is only 10/month. I want to get DLS but I don’t have the xtra cash. So $30/month for the dish (whichincludes all local chanels) is a good deal for a poor white like myself. I wish I had Dig cable so I can watch the NFL highlight though.
I am going to start testing with dishnet soon. I have one of their 500 dishes and a box. From what I have read, it is a pain in the ass.
if you mean testing to get free view…you’ll need a older style dish & LNB…
the new ones won’t work with a programmed free air reciever…they will only work with current harware and a smart card.
and it doesn’t matter what brand dish (dish or direct)…they all work the same
you pay 10 for interweb and 30 for cable.
i pay 50 for interweb and 86 for cable…

I like having my dish its nice to have like a billion channels, even if some are bs channels. I wish dish had the comcast on demand I like that set up better than the dishes on demand. All in all dish is the way to go!
get a 250GB tivo & setup your own custom on demand.
fuck it you can only watch one channel at one time, no need for 150+ channels…waste of money
always good to have a lot of options though.
