Yes this is true…but look how far back we were 5 games ago(points wise)…If we keep up this pace we can start looking like we have a shot
and its beginning of january and the season ends in april…im not sayin they r def makin playoffs but its alittle early to give up hope. look at Tampa in the standings. thats what we r shootin for right now to get in. it’ll be tough but in like 89(i think, somewhere around there) they were like 3-17 and came back to make playoffs
oh dont get me wrong i’m not being all negative, i just wish we could of played like this earlier in the season!
its a shame they didnt. too much talent to be bottom-dwellers at this point in the season. but it took a coaching change and some shuffling of the rostewr but they r playin alot better hockey
if we keep playing like we are now we will make the playoffs.iand i believe its all because of the coach.we have a system now.we dont just stand there and wait for the puck to come to us we go and get it.if u dont seem like u wanna play for this team u wont.just look at the pens leading scorer of 2 years ago ryan malone.he hasnt been playing well at all stupid giveaways not hustling and so on.so thats why hes a healthy scratch.and i dont blame therian(sp) for it

well some things I have notices it that they seem to be doin less dump and try to control and more skating into the zone. I was at the toronto game last week and I will tell you they throw a lot more hits now.
last night was not a hook. surovy took a dive and they lost the game on a fluke goal but that is the way it goes and they got a point.
the first period tonight they let the halves have way too many shots on goal. it was 17-9 shots wise after the first and that is just way too many. after the 2nd it was 28-23 so they did much better.
everyone has to remember that they are not playing knock off teams here. they beat the rangers who have always given them issues. they had OT losses to the leafs who are on a run, they only won 10 games at the bell center before tonight. I mean the odds are against them and they are playing well and working for wins.
all I think about is that my pap named the team when they came into the league and I will watch everygame because he taught me about the game and the team. I love the game and those guys are tough as nails

i agree with most of the stuff u guys are sayin, BUT not about Malone. i know he hasnt been producing but i think last week the thre games before he got sratched i saw more hustle than i did out of him all year. hes had a string of bad events hppen to him this year and i think hes having a hard time with his new role etc and has no confidence. i’d have him in the lineup over Armstrong, Endicott, Murley, Hussey anyday.
how bout that old man john leclair the past few games, he is starting to acutally move around and create chances, i wanna trade malone for a real defensemen and maybe another one of our offensive defensemen too like tarnstrom
Tarnstrom is hurt …How bout Rick Jackman stepping it up cannon of a shot and starting to hit …
when used to taylor to his strengths Jackman will produce…as far as malone, there is no point trading him…we wont get anything for him. besides, hes proved he can play, hes slumping right now, so hopefully he will come around, even if its next season. it took the rest of the team this long to wake up, so i dont think its fair to give up on ryan.
