2night awards are given out. I hope Crosby gets Rookie of the year but Ovechkin will prob win. When a rookie scores 52 goal it is something special. Even though Ovechkin shot over 100 more times than crosby…I feel Crosby should win since he is a better all around player in my eyes…but I am a bit partial.
Also Morozov has decided to stay in Russia…he said he just realized he likes it there so much…I bet they threatened to kill him knowing that country. I think he signed a 3 year deal with no way out. Oh well would have been sweet to get him back.
Draft pick…I havent read much…just an article about Kessel not having work ethic and not try too hard at times. Also I read a few days ago our new GM wants to make an immediate impact on the team…he said he will entertain any offers to trade our #1 pick away as long as the players offered can make an impact on our team…he also said he doesnt feel any of the rookies will make a immediate impact. I think I may be looking into how awsome Eric Staal is but if Jordan Staal can compare it will be sick to get him…also Kessel is insane as well from what I read too.
ovechkin deserves R.O.Y. if he gets it. amazing pure goal-scorer. hes on a team just as shitty as we were and took over games at times. Crosby played well enough to win also, but if Alex gets it, its not like he didnt deserve it.

wouldve been cool if Sid won, but i think Alex deserved it. it was awesome to have 2 rookies of that caliber in one year…actually there were alot of awesome rookies this year…look what Ward did and Lundquist and a few others
I am sure eveyone knows by now we got Staal in the draft. I think it was an awsome pick. He is pretty big at 6’4" and 215…he is susposed to be better than his brother was at his age…so lets hope he can at least match what his brother has done in the NHL so far.
Pens are stacked with young talent now…we need some leadership and these guys to develop a bit. I am sure in the next few years we will be a team that is always in the playoffs…I guess you can say we can be compared to the Senators.
Now that they have raised the minimum salary and the cap for next year, I’m really hoping that the Pens make a run at 1 solid blueliner and a decent 2nd line winger.
If we can somehow get Sergei Samsonov from Edmonton I would be ecstatic. He’s exactly what we need, would replace Palffy, and adds something that we really don’t have ANY of, which is a right-handed shot.
As for a defenseman, I don’t really think we have a chance at Chara, McCabe, or Redden. Anyone know of some top 6 D guys that aren’t going to be first liners?

I don’t think there is any way that Ziggy is back in the black and gold next year. He might return to the league sometime, but it surely won’t be with the Pens.
I know that, I’m just saying that I don’t beleive there is a chance in hell that Shero would welcome him back. I’m fairly certain that if Palffy tried to come back, they would probably just give him his unconditional release. He has been a Pandora’s Box with that shoulder and has already showed twice serious questions about his desire to play the game.
