Latest news from ESPN Radio 1250 says that Andrew Murstein (guy that licenses the cabs in NYC) has just gotten Dan Marino and Mark Cuban to be primary partners in his attempt to buy the Pens. He also said that no matter what he will be keeping the team here and that he is prepared to wait several years in order to get a new arena built in the city.

he was good for like 2 weeks and then got bumped to the 3rd and 4th lines when Hilbert took the spot on the top line. he didnt impress me much. Hilbert, on the other hand showed alot more promise, in my opinion.

We signed Mark Eaton defenseman from Nashville, I am sure shero saw something he liked while he was asst GM in Nashville. Should be a solid Defenseman the Pens need really bad.

We aslo signed Jarkko Ruutu, he too should be an awsome addition to the team. Plays gritty and gets under people’s skin. He knocked Jagr out of a game during the winter olympics. I am not sure about the 1.15 mil paydoay though…but he is the type of player the Pens need.

I like the signings…I think they are players we need and should fit in well.

Eaton is a stay at home defenseman who makes his living on the pk. A+ for the Pens on that signing. giving Ruutu 1.15 is just as bad as giving Andre Roy whatever we give him(1m/yr I think?). not re-signing hilbert is a mistake. but their biggest mistake so far this offseason is not sweetening the deal with Carolina for Jack Johnson. should have gave them the pick and armstrong, possibly another player depending on the return pick. but they opted for another young scoring forward… cause that’s what they need. :rolleyes:

Yep…considering we play the Islanders 8 million times per year…and ebery game last year was awsome.
I am fured up to see Ruutu play though…I love watching players like that…they do so many little things behind the play. I wonder if Shero has anyhting else up his sleeve…but a 600K raise is a bit much
That deal was never actually in the works. Despite all the rumors, guessing, and hoping, there was never really a chance for Johnson to come here. Look at Carolina’s blue line in terms of their age, trading him for an offensive force would have been retarded.
