Shero say’s Doors are open for Recchi to come back…LeRecchin ball FTW

YA REECHI… WooT

recchi is sweet. i’d glady take him back…oh and i’m still pissed about Lange

I don’t know about Recchi. I personally like him and don’t believe all that bullshit about him causing a rift with Crosby, but I’m just wondering about the need for a 39 year old winger on this team. I’d personally rather see Staal stay here than Recchi come back, let Jordan take his lumps now.

Anyone want to take a guess as to the top 9 forwards and top 6 defensemen are going to be opening night? MY guesses would be

1st line - LW Malone C-Crosby RW- C. Armstrong

2nd line - LW Rita C - Malkin RW - M. Ouellet

3rd line - LW Ruutu C- Hopefully Staal, if not we’ll sign one (maybe Perreault) and RW - LeClair

1st defensemen - Welsh and Whitney

2nd D - Gonchar (so hes on the same line with Malkin) and Eaton

3rd D - Orpik and Cairns

3rd line D will be Orpik and Scuderi probly. i dont see Welch being on the first line after taking til the end of the season to even make the big club…it’d have to be Gonchar. also, i’m not bankin on Staal playin this year, but who knows. also what about melichar?..he wore the ‘A’ last year so i figure he’ll be playin…more than likely 2nd or 3rd line…Cairns wont hold a steady roster spot.

Welsh will definitely be top D with Whitney next year, unless therrien is smoking a crack pipe. Eddie O didnt like him so he wasnt with the Pens from the get go. he played great with whitney when they brought him up. Cairns and Scuderi are a toss up, neither of them are stand out players that you can say one is a must have. whatever happened to Christensen?

so your highest paid, top producing defensemen plays on the second line for a guy who barely just broke into the league…ya ok

of course he does… then he’ll be on the ice with his good friend and russian national team, teammate. and you wont be pairing two greenlight D up anymore. they now have two stay at home D so you can give Gonchar and Whitney the greenlight when they’re on the ice. so why not split them up. this isnt football where starting the game means something. gonchar will still log 22-25 minutes of ice a night, and run the powerplay. but now he and whitney both will have room to play their games. get a clue

well i see your point, but it still doesnt make sense to me. playin on the first line does mean something…its Crosbys line. that line will see the ice the most. they pay Gonchar that cash to be out there makin things happen on the top line. havin 2 defensemen that jump up on the play is a good point, but at the same time it dont think its necisary that they be split. he will more than likely play with Malkin on the powerplay, alongside Crosby again.

1st line - LW Malone C-Crosby RW- C. Armstrong

2nd line - LW Rita C - Malkin RW - LeClair

3rd line - LW Ruutu C- Hopefully Staal(but Ouellet has a chance at center here) and RW - M. Ouellet(maybe Talbot if he can get in shape)

1st defensemen - Gonchar and Whitney

2nd D - Welsh and Eaton

3rd D - Orpik and Melichar

i dont think we have Talbot anymore do we?

thought that I heard that as well. cant remember.

I know it is way too early to pick lines but I would think/love to see Staal on the # 1 or #2 line. I have a feeling this kid is going to rip and would love to see the 3rd 100 point rookie penguin

The only reason I had Gonchar on the 2nd line defense was just because he could help with Malkin’s understanding of the English language, thats all.

I don’t think you play Whitney and Gonchar together. Two offensive minded guys together doesnt work well. Put Eaton with Gonchar and maybe Orpik with Whitney. I’m re-thinking Welsh and Whitney together. Orpik would probably be better off to start the season.

If there is a current Pens player that has a chance to play 3rd line center, its not Ouellet, its Ryan Malone. Ouellet is a winger no doubt.

i know me and you are on opposite sides when it comes to Malone…i think he is w/o a doubt a 1st or 2nd liner. he slumped bad this year but the 2nd half of the year he came back to form…hes a key on this team.

…on a hockey note. a guy i work with is building a huge house, we went through it today, its just the first floor framing and superior walls but you can start to see what it will be like. instead of a third bedroom, he made a hockey room… second floor, decent size, deck hockey flooring indoors, plexiglass on the walls, two goals… just for him and his kids to fuck around in. it’s one of the most over the top, yet coolest, things i’ve ever heard of in a non-cribs home. pics when finished.

I think eaton will become way more offensive here in the burgh. he is fast with good hands not just a shot blocker
