Yeh it sat in the driveway for about 2 weeks as my starter blew up on me again and when I replaced it and started the car it was running like complete shit. I figured that one of the cylinders wasnt firing from the way it was running so I checked spark and injectors and everything seems good. I checked the plugs and they were raunchy as shit so I changed em but didnt make a difference. The car cannot idle and must be given constant throttle to stay alive, it also is blowing white smoke out the back. When you have it sitting at around 2200+ rpm it seems to run quite a bit better. Also I checked my coolant its at the proper level and there is no oil in there. Also should be noted that the oil smells a bit like gas.
Summary of Problems
#1 Car running like complete ass. #2 Cannot Idle and needs constant throttle #3 Blowing white smoke.
Hmmm… you said you’ve checked for oil in coolant, have you checked
coolant in oil? It’d give you a coffee colour (with lots of creme, like tripple
tripple) Blowing white smoke can happen at first when your car was sitting for a bit, but if it’s constant, it’s almost always either of the following.
-head gasket
-cracked block
-cracked head
It could smell like gas due to incomplete combustion caused by moisture.
Run the compression test and see, that’s all i can tell you now from experience, exact same thing happened to my mazda b2200 and my old s13
Also try draining the coolant (take the plug out) let it sit for about 30 minutes
and then starting it for couple seconds just to see,
Thanks, for the input will try draining coolant. However I dont see it being a head gasket as im told if it is I will have oil in my coolant and the coolant is super clean. Also the car was running MINT before I parked it for 2 weeks and now its complete shit and this is really bothering me. If anyone has any other suggestions as well that would be a great help.
well try compression test, this will tell u for sure, that the problem is one of the 3 i mentioned, if compression is all good i don’t know what to say…
if i recall correctly, compression tester isn’t that expensive, u take out your
spark plugs and stick that thing on it and turn the engine over
and see how much compression it can hold
