KA (sohc) to SR Swap

just a few questions, is teh SR swap for a Sohc KA the same in situation to a SR swap for a Dohc KA?

also can i use the Sohc Harness moddified for the SR?!

Completely different motors… Thats about the same as me asking if I can use my harness from my 1.3L rotary for a V8.

dan pretty much sumed it up.
if you are buying a sr from a company like 4kruzn for example, it usually includes an ecu and complete engine harness.
if you already have the block and the rest, go buy a harness and save yourself the hassle.

my whole question was SOHC vs DOHC for an SR swap. the harness and ecu i can get no problem… the question is i’ve seen the dohc harness modded with the SR harness to work which is wat we are supposed to do am i correct?
is the SOHC harness teh same concept or is it a bit different??

i have teh wiring diagrams and wat is needed to swap pins and such but it doesnt state that its for an SOHC or DOHC KA… it just says KA…

wich harness are you talking about?
the engine harness must be made for the SR.
the chassis harness i believe stays in the car.
i dont no what you would modify on the chassis harness for the SR swap?
you might have to ask some of other guru’s.

yes the engine harness… the one taht connects to teh ECU… i know i have to use the SR one but there are some modifications to taht harness to make it work for the swap… all i want to know is that the SOHC harness teh same as teh DOHC harness for modification?!

Im confused what your problem is. If you want to do an SR20DET swap you will use your SR20 harness supplied wityh the motor and you have to wire up 3 clips that you remove off your old KA harness.

And the SOHC tach will only work with a SOHC motor. If you swap in a KA24DE or a SR20DET into your 1989-1990 240 you will have to use a SR20 tach or a KA24DE tach(1991+)

the 3 clips can be found on my KA harness but wat my question is, is it the same with SOHC harness or do i have to use the DOHC harness…
