hey, this week i’m going to be swapping out my SOHC automatic slowness for DOHC 5 speed goodness. i don’t have a DOHC harness though, so i’m wondering if it is possible to use the SOHC harness without too much modification.
i did a search for this and came up with nothing.
or if you have a DOHC harness you are looking to sell for cheap, PM me and i may have to pick it up from you.
sohc slowness for dohc goodness? Dude its like 10 hp difference. Just do a 5 spd swap and basic mods and your on your way. Later on do a pimp SOHC turbo setup and spank sr’s
People give the sohc no respect, mine was pumping out 220whp and 250ft/lbs at the wheels @ 10psi before i sold it stock internals and injectors and at 5psi was 181hp and 213ft/lbs
Dont waste your money un-necessarily
my sohc is very tired and runs like a bag of ass, and i get a very strong dohc motor for free (helping a friend with his SR swap), so i’m wanting to put it in seeing as i have to go for an e-test soon and i know the sohc won’t be close to passing.
just go to a wreckers and get a dohc harness and the tranny harness if you dont get that too… it comes off in like 5 minutes if you have to take it off in the wreckers.
if you want to bring a set of needle nose pliers a pocket knife (to get those little metal clips off fucking things) regular pliers and a 10 mm wrench.
the harnesses when i compared werent very similar when i did my dohc swap

alright, i had a look at a few wreckers around here and they either didn’t have the harness or it was missing connectors, i’ll check out some more though.
