KA-T and cams

My question is,
GENERALLY SPEAKING, with a ka24det, it makes sense to use a cam combination that boosts the bottom end since the turbo is going to kick in later on and compensate for loss in top end right? A lot of people claim that certain cams are the “best” for ka-t, but it just comes down to how you want your power band to feel, there isn’t a setup that is objectively better right?

Ka is already known for torque due to its stroke… I guess it depends on the turbo too though. Don’t really know what you are asking cause you answered your own question. Its all a preference but i’m sure KA-T guys would know better, i’m only good for SR but i would immagine a cam the helps in the upper range would be nice especially if you could push the redline.

I want to keep strong bottom end, so the stock 232/232 cams will be fine. Car is daily and i rarely red line or use 5000+rpm, so i’m not interested in anything like 248/248. I know people like 248/232 because they say it has good top end while maintaining that bottom as well, but to be more specific, i guess my question is… a lot of people say the 248/232 cams are “best” especially for KA-T but not really explaining why. I’m not trying to get into the whole ‘which cam is best’ thing, just want to know if there’s something about those particular cams that work better with KA-T, or are people just throwing words like “best” around because they simply like it.

Personally to me it seems the “best” ka-t cams would be something that give you best lower end because unless your turbo is small as fuck, you’d be expecting it to kick in maybe ~3-4000 rpm anyway, giving you a more even powerband. Unless of course you’re specifically looking to stack all your power in the top end, which could be the case. But most people are all 232/232’s are gay this gay that

Best answer to this question is look at dyno graph’s and talk to guy’s that tune cars, like Dan of U2DYNO.

Most people just say “Best” without anything to compare to, so you would have to take their advice with a grain of salt.

get a custom grind by colt cams…they might be able to make one…

you want less overlap so there is no blow through…and like all performance cams…lots of lift…and duration
