KA24DE and SR20 tranny internals

I’m looking to rebuild my 93 KA tranny this winter. I’m having a really tough time to find internals for it. Actually I have found nothing…but I was wondering if the tranny for any SR20 could be interchanged into the KA tranny. Come to think of it a 6 speed KA would be pretty nice.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Your answer:
Except for the Bell Housing, dust boot where the drive shaft goes and the 4th-5th gear sensors, the KA and SR trannies are exactly the same.
As for the 6speed ( i assume you mean the S15), I have read many times over that they aren’t very reliable. Some explained it as stuffing a 6 speed in the 5 speed tranny which made it a lot less reliable, but thats only what I read.

any way to make 5th gear go faster (change the ratio) when rebuilding ? 300km/h goal 8)
