So Im helping a friend put in a new ka24de in his 240sx hatch but we cant get everything to line up, the tranny keeps rolling the wrong way and we just cant get them to mate up. Then we almost had it but then the input shaft didnt want to go in, and yes the clutch is all lined up properly with the alignment tool. We do not have a hoist and have the car on jack stands, any tricks to making this easier?
loosen the pp and realign the clutch… the tool should slip in and out with almost no effort, also roll it around in all directions to see if the tool deflects equally
trust me, I know it sounds like it can’t be it, until you do it, and it slips in the first try heh
^ yes do that. And when ur sliding in the tranny, get someone to slowly turn the crank pulley to spin the clutch to get the input shaft in easier instead of twisting all that shit.
When i swapped trannies we got it lined up by getting the bolts in and then turning the tranny via drive shaft…
Finally got it in yesterday, thanks for the help.
