“Working from race reports, biographies and reminiscences, Chris Nixon tells the fascinating story of the creation of the Nurburgring and the heroic exploits of 14 legendary drivers he considers true Ringmasters, from Carriciola to Jacky Ickx. A truly outstanding publication featuring many and not to mention scarce photos. A must for every avid motorsport enthusiast. Strongly recommended.”

“This proved to be the last book that Chris Nixon wrote before he sadly passed away in June 2005. ‘Kings of the Nürburgring’ is a superb volume covering the history of the circuit from 1925-1983. There are over 300 photographs many of which have never been seen before and of course it contains those brilliantly researched anecdotes and personal touches that became Chris’ hallmark. It is not simply a book about the history of the ‘Ring. It goes much further than that and highlights fourteen drivers who can rightly claim to be ‘Ringmeisters’. These were the heroes who not only took on the awesome Nordschleife , but won! The names are highly evocative names … Rudolf Caracciola, Tazio Nuvolari, Bernd Rosemeyer, Alberto Ascari, Juan Fangio, Stirling Moss, Tony Brooks, Phil Hill, Graham Hill, John Surtees, Jim Clark, Vic Elford, Jackie Stewart and Jacky Ickx.”

Cool.

NICE! A book I would actually read.

can somebody grab this and put it somewhere that’s not on one of those megashare sites for me please? I’d like to print it out at work as a test file on one of my print presses (and have a copy on my desk as a side reward)

Send me your e-mail, I can send it to you that way

too big for my work email, and sending to my iphone email defeats the point since I can just download at home tonight.
