Know anything about NC? Raleigh? Fayetteville?

Yes I did, and although we did have Whole Foods, I knew only a handful of people who even bothered to try and have a car there. It was like $200 to get a permit to park your car on a residential street (and even then you weren’t guaranteed to get assigned a street near your house), and there are no roads up into the campus. You walk or take the bus around the perimeter (school tuition included unlimited bus passes for us every semester…the bus system there rocked)

Why did you come back to Rochester?

(Oh, and I meant the general area)

lol! personally; i think that there’s just as many brainwashed ppl here as there are there. they’re easy enough to ignore though…

significantly more annoying are the pyramid scheme ppl that (for whatever reason) think you’re stupid enough to believe that you’re getting an ‘uber-cool once in a lifetime’ job offer after knowing them for like 90 seconds. :cjerk: lol

I didn’t come back. I was born and raised in southern California… I graduated college and wanted to give someplace new a try. Put a map out in front of me and randomly picked a place. Packed up my car with everything I could fit and drove across the country, site unseen. No, I didn’t know anyone, and yes, I might possibly be certifiably crazy.

I plan to do that after college. Some of us like living on the wild side.

Actually, I think it shows a level of confidence that most people don’t have.

Durham is pretty… except you have to jump on the highway to get to blockbuster. then again i do the same thing living in jersey.

move here, buy a few mini horses, buy a stook and come play with me and the boyfriend.

Oh yeah, this thread. :stuck_out_tongue: How things change in a year… I’ve got a GOOD job now, have been accepted to UB’s Professional MBA program starting this fall, and my fiance has finished her masters and got a good job. I guess we’ll be sticking around. Oh well, with global warming being what it is, in a couple of years this place will be warm like Raleigh only without the souther drawl and neo-christian-NASCAR-budweiser-rednecks. Although I do enjoy a cold bud light…

Fuck, just when I thought we were finally rid of ya

Lived in both places for a while, thumbs up to Raleigh

I’m moving to charlotte at the end of the month… I can’t wait.

where are you living?

Well its actually Pineville, right outside of Charlotte. My sister lives in Fort Mill. I’m going down there June 17-24 to look for a job and check out the area. Then moving around July 1st. Its going to suck not knowing anyone at first, but I’m sure I’ll meet some people. How is the car scene down there?

So, south of the city. A lot of traffic down there b/c it is growing so fast.

There are some car clubs but nothing organized that I could find like NYSPEED. Mooresville, up north, has a drag strip and a lot of domestics.

I am bumping this again

I want to know what there is to do in Raleigh. I know there is a decent size lake around there, is it cool? a lot of people boating or anything? If I were to move there, what would I do on the weekends? Anything that is dog friendly?

What is the rent like in a decent area? 2 bedrrom apt. or so…

^
I’ll be in Raleigh on the 28th for a week or so.

I can post back on my adventures?

Not as a resident though. lol

yeah I am going down there on January 6th to go and check all this stuff out.

I went down to Raleigh for the Sabres/Canes playoffs a couple years back. Seemed like a really nice area. I think we stayed in Cary if memory serves correct. Definitely a nice area for the 2.5 days I was there.

LOL oh yeah. This plan. Guess I found enough reasons to stay here.

bump, going down there in less then a week to scope out the scene

how are the lakes down there? Falls lake and Jordan lake seem to have people boating and jet skiing. Are they similar in size to lake chataqua?
