i’m assuming they were just running it hard… but yeah, my turdbo gets red hot after a lot of highway driving… it cools down within a minute though… that was probably taken just as it heated up…
well when we dyno a motor & they got red,they where lean,but i see what ur saying
Check the Mitsu minivan out on the last page…Lays tire almost 3/4 of the track and still runs 11.3. What a sleeper.
i agree that’s rather hot… my turbine housing heats up but not my manifold or downpipe, at least not like that!!!
14.5:1 is waaaaaaaaay lean for WOT, especially in a boosted car. NA most guys shoot for 12.8-13.2:1 and generally you see at least half a point lower on boosted cars. However, I doubt they’re actually running it at the 14.5:1 you say. It’s probably tuned much better.
