Ya, too bad I didn’t have a camera that could do it justice.
Anywho… I have a little update this week.
My dad is using all of his engine stands currently, so I figure I need my own. Off to Princess Auto I go, only to find the typical crap, so I grabbed a set of wheels with a couple castors.
Next I stopped in to a machine shop in Stoney Creek that also sells various pieces of metal and grabbed 12 feet of 2.5" square tubing and 2 pipes that fit into each other for the rotating assembly.
I figure I’ll have about $50-$60 into it by the time I pick up some hardware and scavenge a couple steel plates, and it will be quite a bit sturdier than the flimsy power fist one.
I would have gotten a lot more work done today but I had to move the engine along with the hoist to the rear shop to work on… this was much more involved than it sounds as I was by myself and it’s a gravel driveway from one to the other. BUT, the back shop has heat!! Oh, and I got a hair cut
