so i just recently made the switch. I found that with SUSE i was running into so many problems with package dependencies that it wasnt even worth installing any software that didnt come included with the os. After chatting with some guys at work about it, i decided on Kubuntu(i like kde). I have been enjoying it much better. Its the easiest thing in the world to install. I have since done away with adept and i am now using synaptic for package management(i was have an issue with adept). It is very easy to install programs once it is all configured. everything is really nice on the eyes and very customizable. I know that the mac users on here can appreciate it. If anyone is fed up with M$ and wants to learn a thing or two, this is the linux distro for you. Figured ide write a short write up on this because i was impressed.
screw adept, i installed synaptics, much better. but yeah, u gotta setup ur repositories
and once u do that u can just do a quick search(within the program) and install the packages u want
the SUSE gui was simple to use, but its a bitch when u try to install a package and theyre are about 10 dependency problems. my main thing is that i want easy installation of programs. i dont want it to take 10 hours behind a command line to get vlc up and running, that shit pisses me off.
