Kuntry's ATV / Sled / Dirtbike Projects

Hard to tell but is that the connecting rod moving around? Did the guy ever swamp it?

Yeah, Rod is moving. Leaked gas into the oil and sat for 4-6 months. Explains why the motor was locked up when I got it.

www.fourstroketech.net or maybe check out www.nflowmotorsports.com. Also maybe vforcejohn. I’m not sure if he sells reman cranks kits.

Four Stroke Tech would be my first choice $325 with a core. I got my bbk kit from him. Guy really know these motors and has years of experience with them. Email is the best way to get a hold of him.

They make studs with a larger head diameter for single ply tracks.

I’m not a fan of single ply tracks, but I also tend to heavily stud the sleds that I run.

I did watch a studded single ply track blow apart and take out the heat exchangers on a brand new skidoo 800 sending the track stand about 50ft back into the trees. That was a pretty loud bang… Glad I wasn’t anywhere behind that thing or the one holding the trigger.

Well, got a ride to the shop yesterday and decided to get to Tinker with the ltr bottom ends.
Tapatalk won’t let me upload pictures currently.

My rear drive shaft decided to let go Saturday night. I removed the shaft, locked it in 4 wheel and could do endless FWD burnouts.

Gave up on selling the 2009 trx450r and decided to make it a bank up TT quad for this year. This is what I started with.

Took it back on my practice track. Hit one jump and the rear brake resivor snapped off.

Subscribed, like this kind of stuff.

One TT quad complete. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t4/87conquestTSi/IMAG0054_zpstfun7hjy.jpg

Other TT quad, pulled the motor, to rebuild the transmission. Got the swing arm assembled. Found this TT elka in the spare parts bin. Missing the bushings for the rear suspension links. At a stand still on that.

Swapping bottom ends for the Ltr. Water pump impeller broke, needs a shifter shaft seal, and a left handed nut then I can completely assemble it. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t4/87conquestTSi/IMAG0056_zpsvkoz43m6.jpg

I let a race buddy barrow my renegade last weekend. Got to looking out over today to find both diff seals leaking, torn cv boot, mud in the bottom of the air box. Wtf. Luckily the throttle body was clean. As was the air filter.

What a nice friend. What was he doing to cause so much damage.

where can you race TT quads locally or otherwise?

Locally freedom race way in arcade / Delavan. Also paradise in Geneva.

The rear diff deal could have been taken out when the drive shaft went. As for the rest, I have no idea.

Finished the LTR motor, that will be going into a new frame.

Took a break from the build stuff and actually rented a small 30x30 shop.
I have much more room to work on projects now.
In moving stuff I had forgot I had my grandfathers hodaka stashed away in the barn. He passed away about 6 years ago. He bought the bike brand new, raced it a bit, then sold it. When he sold it the guy didn’t want any paperwork, so my grandpa kept it. My mom and uncle wanted to give the bike away for people to let kids ride. I refused and took the bike when no one was around. I cleaned the carb, new fuel lines, filter, fuel, and it fired right up.
I took it down the trail, its pretty sketchy to be honest.

Got the 06 TRX450 motor apart, split the cases. Shift drum failure .

Tossed this stand thing together. Not really going to use it for the renegade, it will be for the 450s. Figured if it hold the renegade it will hold the 450s.

And speaking of the renegade… that blew up to.

Both fuel injectors failed. Filled the bottom end with fuel. Sent them to be tested and they wont close. Even after cleaning.
I can hear air coming from the bottom end and the intake / throttle body.

Fuck.

Dug out some hipster shit. Maybe I’ll put this in a motorcycle. Add a turbo and fuel injection? http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t4/87conquestTSi/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20150722_153952558_zpsj9acnd6j.jpg

Hit and miss motors are cool. Does that thing run?

I’ve been slowly playing with it. I can get it to fire a few times, but it won’t stay going. Last I was cracking it, the crank handle came off and hit me in the throat. I gave up after that.

Hey if you ever get a chance can you take a measurement of the shock linkage tabs on the frame. Wanna know how far down and over if is from the swing arm bolt. Basically L shape from center of swing arm bolt strait down then over to center of linkage bolt.

I have a 250x with a 450r swing arm with tabs welded on the frame for the the linkage. Sometimes the linkage binds and need to know of the tab’s should be moved.

We are running shortened swing arms and different linkage. I’m not sure it would be correct measurements for you.

I’m talking about measurements on the frame. The center of the swing arm bolt to the center of the linkage bolt on the frame. Doesn’t have to be exact. Just want an idea.

hit & miss engines are so cool! I want one to play around with.

Ah. Misunderstood, that pretty simple one.
